Below is the policy for the 2008-2009 school year. Students of my studio must agree to the Unified Policy, the Traditional Policy, and my own studio requirements. A copy of all of these will be presented at the initial interview. All questions regarding the Unified and Traditional policies should be directed to macsa@sbcglobal.net.

MACSA Unified Policy

   1. Registration Fee of $35 is due upon signing up for lessons (except students under the Coaching Policy).

   2. Lessons will be offered year-round as follows:

School Year Session: Sept 1 - May 1

         Summer Session: June 1 - August 31

   3. Tuition payable to MACSA is due no later than the 7th of each month, therefore a client making a payment from the 1st through the 7th is considered in good standing.

   4. Payments received from the 8th through the 15th will be assessed a late fee of $20.

   5. On the 16th of the month, any client who has not made a payment will be considered in "failure to pay" status. At that point, the client will be assumed inactive and the lesson slot will be lost. Tuition balance and Registration Fee will then be due before an interview can be scheduled for lessons to resume.

   6. Bounced checks will be handled as follows: $20 late fee + $5 Bank Fee and checks will no longer be accepted.

   7. Two (2) weeks advance written notice for Termination of Lessons is required. Written notice may be given in person, mailed, or emailed attention General Manager. Tuition and other fees paid cannot be refunded.

   8. Clients who do not take lessons for two months or more will be assessed the Registration Fee to resume lessons. Option: tuition can be paid to maintain lesson time slot and avoid repaying the Registration Fee.

   9.  In the case of teacher extended leave (more than 2 weeks), teacher will commit to make up lessons or arrange to have another MACSA teacher substitute during the leave at the rate of their current teacher or substitute teacher, whichever is less.

   10. All material & non-MACSA activity fees such as competitions, festivals, etc. are paid by the teacher and therefore should be reimbursed directly to the teacher, not MACSA.

   11. Teachers may have individual additional activity and practice requirements (see your personal instructor for details).

   12. Makeup lessons will be offered only in case of severe emergencies (i.e. illness)

   13. Students who are late to their lesson will receive remaining time unless it is beyond 50% of lesson time, then lesson will be forfeited.

   14. Makeup lessons will be limited to 2 per year.

   15. Makeup lesson time will be left to discretion of teacher.

   16. Teacher cancellations will be rescheduled.

Please note... Your teacher does not get paid unless you pay your tuition!

Option #1: The Traditional Policy
The client who selects this policy commits to the MACSA Unified Policy in addition to the following guidelines.
   1. Tuition is based on 46 lessons for the year and is due in 12 equal monthly payments.
   2. Commit to the same lesson time during the School Year Session (Sept. 1 - May 31).
   3. With the exception of the summer, lessons cannot be rescheduled.

   4. In the Summer Session (June 1-Aug 31), families can choose one of 4 options:
      a. Student will continue lessons as usual with current teacher at the agreed monthly tuition. Lessons can be rescheduled with 2 weeks advance notice by email. Lessons will be scheduled at teacher’s discretion. Student should not assume lessons have been rescheduled until written confirmation is received from teacher. Selecting this option ensures student will remain with current teacher and have priority scheduling of their time slot for the next school year.
      b. Student pays monthly tuition as usual but accepts foregoing lessons to be missed. Selecting this option ensures student will remain with current teacher and have priority scheduling of their time slot for the next school year.

      c.

      d. Student schedules and pays for less than 8 lessons. Time slot &/or current teacher is not guaranteed for the next school year and student will have to re-register with MACSA and pay $35 Registration Fee upon return. Student will be invoiced for all lessons at the actual rate due in full by June 7.
